The Steelers placed three players on the Professional Football Writers Association All-NFL Team. TJ Watt was named to the team for the fifth time, Cam Heyward for the third time, and Chris Boswell for the first time. They were also named ALL-AFC.
Denver led the list with four players selected. Kansas City and Detroit tied the Steelers with three honorees.
The Steelers also announced that they have signed running back Jonathan Ward to a reserve/futures contract. He had five carries for 22 yards in four games played this season and spent most of the year on the Steelers’ practice squad. Ward has played five seasons in the NFL.

The Chicago Bears filled their head coaching vacancy with a former division rival. Detroit offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will take over for interim head coach Thomas Brown, who got the job when Matt Eberflus was fired in midseason after a loss to Johnson’s Lions.
