The White Township Supervisors this afternoon discussed a potential ordinance concerning swimming pool safety.
The ordinance was inspired by the death of five-year-old Lenny Hatinda, who was found dead in a swimming pool after wandering away from home in July of 2021. The ordinance is in the research stage for now, according to Township Manager Chris Anderson.
In other business, the township supervisors gave Indiana Fire Association President and Indiana Borough Mayor Bill Simmons a plaque for being named to the 2021 Small Town America Civic Volunteer Award’s top 100 list. Simmons was nominated by the township for his work with the fire association for over 40 years, including 20 as the association’s president.
