TRACK & FIELD
The IUP men’s and women’s indoor track & field programs scored a combined eight wins on Saturday at the Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational in Alliance, Ohio. They also hit three PSAC qualifying mark and set a meet record.
Cahsia Page won individual events in the 60 meters and 200 meters, and ran the second leg of IUP’s winning distance medley relay, which set a meet record. Tori James, Emily Schrag, and Paige Weiss were the other members of the relay team.
Cassidy Kline won the 400 meters; Sarah Isenberg won the high jump; and Rachel Horrell won the triple jump.
For IUP’s men’s team, Dan Gibney won the 5,000 meters, with IUP placing four runners in the top six of that event. The men’s 4-by-400 relay team of Trenton Jubin, Noah Shannon-Hatchett, Justin Egizio, and Kendal Branan also came home a winner.
IUP’s next meet is Saturday at the VMI Winter Classic in Lexington, Virginia.
TENNIS
IUP’s 23rd-ranked women’s tennis team opened its spring season splitting weekend matches against two Division One programs. IUP beat Niagara but lost to Buffalo.
