Friends and family today are mourning the passing of Dan Shacreaw, the Black Lick firefighter and former Burrell Township supervisor and road master whose death from the effects of brain cancer was announced yesterday by the fire company.
Shacreaw served the community in a number of ways and had been with the fire company since he was a junior firefighter as a teenager. He also served eight years with the PA Army National Guard’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Enhanced Response Force.
He resigned as a supervisor last May, mainly due to his health.
Shacreaw was 35 years old. He leaves behind a wife, Rachel, and a son, Colton.
