Penn State blew out SMU, 38-10, in the first round of the College Football Playoff Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen combined for 160 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. The Nittany Lions thrived on defense, with Dominic DeLuca and Tony Rojas each scoring on pick six interceptions. Rojas intercepted two passes.
Penn State is now 12-2 and will face 12-1 Boise State in the quarterfinal of the CFP at the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Eve. SMU finishes the season 11-3.
