The Pirates lost to the Yankees 9-5 yesterday in Grapefruit League play. Francisco Cervelli and Jose Osuna homered for the Bucs and pitcher Joe Musgrove, who was acquired from the Astros in the Gerritt Cole trade, made his Spring Training debut. Musgrove has been nursing a sore shoulder. He pitched two and two-thirds innings and gave up two runs on one hit, with three walks and five strikeouts.
The Pirates are 6-and-12 in spring training action and will host the Braves today in Bradenton, with Jameson Taillon getting the start.
