The Indiana Area School District will be looking for a new chief to head the struggling Indians football program.
Brad Wright, who was hired prior to the 2022 season will no longer be the coach. Renda Media has reached out to
Indiana Area School District Athletic Director Dan Roan for comment. The position is already being advertised.
Statement from Roan:
“Obviously, it was a difficult decision that we didn’t take lightly. We are very appreciative of the contributions Coach Wright has made. We have to be certain that the program is headed in the right direction. After three hard-fought seasons we felt that opening the position up was the right thing to do at this current time.”
Wright replaced Brandon Overdorff, who resigned after four years at the helm. The Indians were just 6-24 under
Wright, including 1-9 this past season and finishing the 2024 campaign with 8 straight losses. Indiana was 2-8 in 2023, and 3-7 in 2022. In Wright’s three years, Indiana won one WPIAL section game, finishing a combined 1-15 in section play.
