The Pittsburgh Penguins rout the Carolina Hurricanes 6-1 Friday night in Raleigh.
The first goal for the Pens came at the 13:36 mark of the first period with Jake Guentzel scoring, and Phil Kessel providing the assist. In the second period, the pens scored what would be the game-winner as Olli Matta scored at the 46-second mark of the period. Carolina’s Teuvo Teravainen scored Carolina’s only goal, but the Pens continued to bring the goals, with Phil Kessel scoring the next two goals in the second period, and Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin each getting a goal in the third.
Pens Goalie Matt Murray stopped 27-28 shots on the night.
