N95 face masks have been hard to get a hold of since the Centers for Disease Control announced that they are the preferred mask to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially the Omicron variant, but an Indiana County-based drug store company has been able to get a hold of some.
Representatives with Diamond Drug have been able to get a hold of N95 masks for both personal and professional use, according to Audra Palmo, their Medical Supply director.
Judy Tomayko, Diamond’s Senior Respiratory Therapist said the main difference between the ones that are available to the public and the ones that are available to the medical industry only is the fact that the commercial masks do not need to be specially fitted.
The updated mask guidelines came after many public health experts have recommended the N95 masks for months. N95 and KN95 masks are being recommended as they are now more widely available.
