The Super Bowl is set for February 13th after the Bengals’ come-from-behind 27-24 overtime shocker over the Chiefs yesterday in the AFC championship game and the Rams’ 20-17 defeat of the 49ers in the NFC title game. It will be the second straight year that one of the Super Bowl participants gets to play in their home stadium, this time in Los Angeles.
With the Bengals making it to the Super Bowl, two of their Pro Bowl players were replaced by Steelers yesterday. Wide receiver Diontae Johnson and running back Najee Harris will replace Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Mixon. Johnson and Harris will join teammates TJ Watt and Cam Heyward for the game in Las Vegas this Sunday.
Steelers owner Art Rooney III says he is willing to look outside the organization to find a replacement for general manager Kevin Colbert, who will retire in May after the NFL Draft. Rooney says Colbert has an open invitation to remain involved with the Steelers after his departure from the GM’s chair. Rooney has already interviewed vice president of football and business administration Omar Khan and pro scouting coordinator Brandon Hunt.
