On a night when the shooting was as cold as the weather, the IUP basketball teams split a doubleheader against UPJ last night at the KCAC.
The IUP women won their 20th game of the season despite shooting 39% , for the game , topping UPJ, 57-47.
Carolyn Appelby led the way with 16 points followed by Megan Smith with 13 and Lauren Wolosik with 12. Brittney Robinson provided 10 rebounds.
The men shot just 36 percent in a 65-63 loss, halting their win streak at seven. Drew Magestro hit the game-winner with 3.7 seconds remaining. Dante Lombardi’s attempted game-winner fell short as the game ended.
Anthony Glover tallied 21, while Cobo Diaz had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The loss was the first against a team from the PSAC West at home since December 2014.
The teams are idle Saturday, then play a make-up Monday night at Gannon.
