The United School District has begun its search for a new superintendent, posting the job held by Barbara Parkins since December of 2012.
Parkins has been working under the terms of a contract extension signed last April. The extension expires at the end of the school year. Parkins came to United after 33 years in the Greater Johnstown School District, first as a teacher and eventually becoming superintendent, a position she held for nine years.
