IUP’s interim dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research, Hilliary E. Creely, has been promoted to the position on a permanent basis.
Hilary Creely’s responsibilities include overseeing the university’s over 40 graduate programs and the academic research that is done by the University. Creely was appointed interim dean in 2020 when Dr. Randy Martin retired. She had been serving as an associate dean in the department, and before that, she was the assistant dean for the department. Creely has been with IUP for the past 12 years. Before her time with IUP, she was an American Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Institute of Health, and has taught classes at University of California-Berkley, Brown University, Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, and Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
In a statement, IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll said that she brings a good base of talent and experience to the position, and has already proven to be a success in her time as interim dean.
