IUP WOMEN’S SOCCER
IUP saw their PSAC tournament run come to an end after a double overtime loss to Slippery Rock yesterday at South Campus Field. Indiana High grad Hannah Scardina netted IUP’s only goal at 31:53, but Slip answered with a goal at 64:19 to force the tie. Morgan Sarver broke that at 108:10 to give The Rock the win.
IUP’s season may not be over as they still have a shot at the NCAA tournament. The selection show takes place Monday at 7.
IUP VOLLEYBALL
IUP fought back to claim a five-set match against Clarion yesterday at the KCAC. IUP took set one, 25-19, before dropping the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-11, and then taking the final two by scores of 25-19 and 15-9. Freshman Jessica Neiman led IUP with 18 kills and four blocks. Lauren Valentic added 10 kills and nine blocks. Audrey Torres has eight kills and Delaney Concannon added six.
IUP wraps up the regular season with a road match Friday at 6 against UPJ.
IUP WOMEN’S SWIMMING
IUP’s Kasha Stokes was named PSAC Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after setting three new pool records at Gannon in the 100 backstroke (57:09), 200 backstroke (2:04.16) and the 200 medley relay. She’s the first swimmer this year to receive the honor.
