Tristan Jarry was re-assigned to the AHL two weeks ago after a rough start to the year, allowing 12 goals in just three games. In the minors, Jarry went 4-1-0 in five games played, allowing 11 total goals and eclipsing 30-or-more saves in three of them. Because of that, he was recalled from the AHL late last week and will look for a redemption arc in a home-heavy November schedule.
Coach Mike Sullivan was pleased with the work Jarry put in in the AHL and he thinks having three goalies on the roster will play out in the long run.
Jarry said he cleaned up his game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Sullivan also gave the latest injury news, and it wasn’t good. Forward Kevin Hayes is week-to-week after missing two games with an upper-body injury. Center Cody Glass, who was put on injured reserve, was diagnosed with a concussion.
Forward Matt Nieto was re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on a conditioning loan as he rehabs a knee injury. He will likely spend two weeks there.
The Penguins host the Dallas Stars tonight at PPG Paints Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. Airtime on U92.5 FM is 6.
