IUP women’s basketball capped off a perfect opening weekend with a 62-54 win over Virginia State yesterday at the KCAC. Both teams were tied at 43 entering the final frame, but IUP outscored Virginia State, 19-11, in the fourth to pick up the win.
Grace Centrulla went 6-for-8 from the field and collected 16 points. Shamia Strayhorn added 12 points while Nyshae’ Weaver hauled in nine rebounds.
The women are off until November 18th when they host Penn State-Beaver in the annual Education Day game.
