With the State System of Higher Education having asked the commonwealth for a historic increase in funding, the faculty union at the fourteen state-owned universities has begun a campaign to rally students to support the request.
APSCUF is asking students to share Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram “video testimonies about what a truly affordable college education means to them,” and to tag the videos with #fundPAfuture.
The union says statistics are important, pointing out that and State System statistics are “startling and depressing,” but numbers are not the whole story. It urges students and student-debt-ridden alumni to share personal stories about how an affordable education would impact their lives.
APSCUF says it will “share the stories with those who make decisions about funding and costs for our universities.”
