After a shutout loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, the Pittsburgh Penguins responded with a 4-0 win over the New York Islanders in Brooklyn on Friday.
There was no scoring in the first period, but Daniel Sprong scored his first of two goals of the night at the 41-second mark of the second period. Evgeni Malkin would score nearly three minutes later, and Sidney Crosby would round out the second period scoring at the 15:20 mark. Sprong would get his second goal of the night at the 13:28 mark of the third period. Snidney Crosby factored into all four goals, scoring one and assisting on the the other goals.
Tristian Jarry stopped 23 shots en route to the shutout.
