IUP returned from the holiday break to sweep UPJ in PSAC West action Wednesday night. The men won, 81-76, and the women won, 72-53.
The women ran their record to 11-0 coming out of the gate fast with a 27-9 first quarter. Megan Smith paved the way scoring 22 of her career-high 34 points in the first half. Carolyn Appleby tallied 16 and Lauren Wolosik had 12 points.
For the men, it was a different story as they overcame a 14-point deficit and trailed by nine points at the half, but they turned up the defense in the second half to record the win. Anthony Glover Jr. lead the way with a career-high 31 points.
UPJ was 0 for 8 in three-point attempts in the second half.
The men are 9-4 on the season .
The teams will play host to Mercyhurst Saturday night in the first of three straight home games.
