On Thursday night, the Homer-Center School Board approved a resolution concerning the 2022-2023 budget.
The resolution deals specifically with the Act I index for the district. Business manager Gregg Kalemba said that the maximum increase would be around 2.9%, which would be close to a $300,000 increase in revenues for the district. Kalemba said that the district is in good financial position, so that large a tax increase is not necessary.
Kalemba said that over the last six years, the district raised taxes only once, and that was a 1% tax increase.
In other business, the board approved a revised health and safety plan. The revision has to deal with masking orders. The revisions bring the plan in line with the current CDC guidelines.
