The Steelers continue to gear up for their regular season finale against the winless Browns Sunday at Heinz Field. Pittsburgh needs a win paired with a New England loss to clinch the top-seed in the AFC. Cleveland is hoping to avoid becoming the second team in NFL history to go 0-and-16. Coach Mike Tomlin says he expects the Browns to play hard and try to eliminate mistakes.
Steelers players yesterday were critical of former teammate James Harrison, who signed with New England after being released by Pittsburgh on Saturday. Linebacker Bud Dupree said Harrison did not work with younger players, skipped meetings, and would leave the stadium if he was not going to be active for a game. Center Maurkice Pouncey said yesterday that Harrison “erased his legacy” by signing with the Patriots, and that Harrison “needs to admit” that he forced the Steelers to release him. Safety Mike Mitchell was also critical of his former teammate.
His teammates voted Antonio Brown as the Steelers’ MVP. It’s the fourth time he’s received that honor.
