The IUP women and men play a basketball doubleheader tonight at Seton Hill.
The women are coming off their second loss of the season, suffered Sunday afternoon against Gannon in their first game back since the program was halted by covid protocols after their game on December 19th. They fell in the national rankings to number 17 after the loss.
It’s a tough matchup for Coach Tom McConnell and his team. Seton Hill is 13-4, and 6-1 in the PSAC. IUP is 10-2, and 4-2 in the conference.
The IUP men moved up to number six in the coaches poll and number four in the media poll this week. They sport a 13-1 record, 7-1 in the PSAC and are coming off an unplanned week-long layoff. Their last time on the court, they won on the road at then-number seven Mercyhurst.
Seton Hill is 1-13, 1-8 in the PSAC.

IUP’s Armoni Foster has been named to the 2022 Bevo Francis Award Top 100 watch list. The award goes to the top player in small college basketball, including Division Two, Division Three, the NAIA and two other smaller divisions. This is Foster’s second selection to the watch list. He was named in the 2019-20 season but there was no award last season due to covid.
This is the sixth straight season IUP has had a player on the watch list. Cobo Diaz made it three years in a row and before that, Brandon Norfleet was on the list in the award’s inaugural season.
