White Township will again offer leaf pickup for township residents this year, starting on October 21st. The weekly collections will go on for five consecutive Mondays through November 18th with one exception, on November 11th, which is Veterans Day. The collection that week will be on Tuesday the 12th.
Residents should put their leaves in biodegradable paper bags weighing no more than 50 pounds. The bags should be placed by the street or road at the edge of the lawn and should not block vehicle or pedestrian traffic. Workers will not go onto driveways or into yards to collect the leaves, and plastic garbage bags will also not be picked up.
A reminder that it’s leaves only. Yard or garden waste will not be collected, so no grass clippings, limbs, or branches. White Township residents could also choose to start their own compost pile or haul their leaves to the Indiana County Recycling Center to add to its compost pile along Route 119 in Center Township.
