The Purchase Line School Board will hold a work session tomorrow, with an agenda that includes a number of items, and perhaps a discussion of the district’s response last week to a bomb threat at the elementary school. The district reacted quickly to the threatening note, which was found on Thursday afternoon in a girls’ restroom. Students were escorted up the hill to the high school building and police were summoned. They conducted a search and cleared the building for re-occupancy within two-and-a-half hours. Parents were notified about the incident and school was back in session on Friday.
The board’s agenda contains mostly typical items. The ongoing district review of policies will be up for discussion, including consideration of both new and revised policies.
Indiana Area’s Academic and Extra-Curricular Committee meets Monday night as well, at 5:30. Among the items they will take up are the creation of an athletic trainer’s position, easing a situation currently deemed “untenable” to cover the treatment and care of student athletes, and a discussion of class sizes at the Senior High School.
