At Tuesday night’s meeting, Homer City Borough Council approved an ordinance to modify the non-uniform pension plan.
The final approval of the ordinance came after approval was made last month to advertise it. The change puts new full-time non-uniform employees on a defined benefit plan instead of the defined contribution plan that was used before. Current employees on the defined contribution plan would remain on that plan. Borough manager Rob Nymick said it would be a savings for the borough, but how much is not yet known.
Also last night, Homer City Council approved trick-or-treat times for Halloween. The annual parade will start at 5:30 PM and trick-or-treating will follow until 8:00 PM on October 31st.
