The White Township Supervisors on Wednesday discussed disc golf and it’s popularity at the White Township Recreation Complex.
During the meeting, the supervisors approved naming the nine-hole disc golf course at the rec complex in honor of Michael Dropcho, who raised money to bring the original disc golf course to Getty Heights park that was later relocated. Recreation Director Ryan Shaffer said that the Dropcho family has some accomplishments in the disc golf world, calling Michael’s brother Gary the “Arnold Palmer” of disc golf.
The recreation department is also working on an 18-hole disc golf course that is expected to attract a lot of players to the complex. The equipment for that course has been ordered, and it will arrive at the township over the next month and a half. Construction could start in mid-April.
In other business, the supervisors approved two resolutions concerning signature card updates for the various checking accounts for the township.
