Malkin says it was great to be back in action.
Malkin says as good as it was for him and the Penguins last night, it is still going to take some time to reach peak form.
Jeff Carter played on Malkin’s line, with Evan Rodrigues skating on the Crosby line in the absence of Bryan Rust, who remains on the Penguins’ covid list. Carter is slated to center the third line when Rust and Brock McGinn return from the covid list.
Forwards Danton Heinen and Zach Aston-Reese joined Rust, McGinn, and goaltender Casey DeSmith on the covid list. Heinen and Rust have symptoms of covid, while McGinn and Aston-Reese do not. Sullivan did not say what DeSmith’s status is.
