Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says the Kansas City Chiefs “handled” his team “decisively” in a 36-10 loss on December 26th, but he says, “…that was last time.” The Steelers will be in Kansas City Sunday night for an AFC Wild Card game against the second-seeded Chiefs.
Tomlin says Kansas City’s potent offense starts with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but his passing is not the Chiefs’ only weapon.
Tomlin says Mahomes is such a handful in the passing game because he extends plays with his mobility, which enables him to wait for guys like Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce to get open.
The Steelers will begin practices today for Sunday’s game, and Tomlin says the ability of injured players to participate will help determine who is available on Sunday. That includes Najee Harris with an elbow injury, Robert Spillane with a knee injury, Dan Moore Jr. (ankle), Arthur Maulet (concussion), and James Washington (covid).
