The Indiana County Republican Party has released details on how they plan to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Commissioner Robin Gorman.
The party is looking to provide a recommendation to Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco, who is responsible for naming the person to fill the position for the remainder of Gorman’s term, which will be the end of the 2027 calendar year. Gorman’s resignation is effective on November 8th.
Anyone interested in receiving a recommendation from the Republican Party can send a letter of application and resume to party chairman Randy Degenkolb at IndianaCountyGOP@gmail.com. Questions about the process and the position may also be directed to that email address. Applicants must have been a member of the Republican Party at the time of Gorman’s election in 2023.
The deadline is Midnight, October 1st. After the deadline, members of the Indiana County Republican Committee will review the applications and in accordance with the party’s bylaws, vote on whom to recommend.
