The Pirates closed the home portion of their schedule with another listless defeat to the Brewers. Joe Block has the recap.
The Bucs will cap the season with a three-game series at Yankee Stadium starting tonight. The Yankees clinched the AL East last night. Jared Jones (6-8, 4.14 ERA) gets the final start of his rookie season against veteran left-hander Carlos Rodón (16-9, 3.98 ERA). Because of Homer-Center football, the game will not be on WCCS tonight.

The Dodgers clinched the NL West yesterday. The division champions this year are the Phillies, brewers, and Dodgers in the NL and the Yankees, Guardians, and Astros in the AL. The Dodgers have a one-game lead over the Phillies for the top seed in the NL. The Yankees have a one-game lead over the Guardians for the AL’s top seed.
The NL Wild Card top spot belongs to the Padres. The Mets and Diamondbacks are in a virtual tie for the second spot with the Braves still having a chance. The Mets and Braves are scheduled for a makeup doubleheader on Monday which may decide it.
The Orioles have clinched the top Wild Card position in the AL with the Tigers and Royals tied for the second spot.
