Jury selection is scheduled to start today for a woman from Somerset County charged with corruption of minors, harassment and making false reports of child abuse.
Judge Michael Clark will oversee the trial of 28-year-old Brittany Larose. State Police charged her after they received reports from her that an area couple had been using drugs, allowing her daughter to skip school and that the daughter was being sexually abused. Troopers conducted a welfare check on the couple and the claims were unfounded. When police investigated further, they found she allegedly sent harassing messages to the couple, again claiming they were abusing the daughter, and even shot at least three videos that reportedly showed the girl “dancing provocatively”.
Larose has been free on $20,000 unsecured bond.
