The Coal Bowl featured the only two remaining undefeated teams in the Heritage Conference Friday night, and the Cambria Heights Highlanders emerged from the rivalry game with the Northern Cambria Colts as the clear front runner to win the conference in a 21-14 win at Duffy Daugherty Stadium.
Here is Todd Marino with the recap on U92 and Renda Digital TV.
On the other end of the spectrum, there were three routs in the conference on Friday night, including a 63-6 win by River Valley at Homer-Center. Jake Slebodnick recaps the game, which was heard on WCCS and Cat Country and watched in Renda Digital TV.
In the other two blowouts, Marion Center blanked West Shamokin, 42-0, and United Valley clobbered Conemaugh Valley, 50-6. West Shamokin, Conemaugh Valley and Homer-Center remain the only winless teams in the conference.
Conemaugh Township edged Portage, 16-14, in a closer matchup, and Penns Manor came back to beat Purchase Line by a touchdown, 14-7.
