The Penguins yesterday signed goaltender Luke Richardson to a professional tryout contract. He’s spent the last two seasons in the LA Kings organization, and if he sticks with the Pens’ organization, it will likely be at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, where he would be reunited with goaltenders coach Kain Tisi, one of his former coaches with the New York Rangers organization.
Coach Mike Sullivan put the Pens through a second day of drills and scrimmages at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex yesterday. He says the Pens are looking at a lot of players, and they’ll have to stand out in order to make the team.
Sullivan welcomes former Kings coach David Quinn, a power play expert, to the Penguins, hoping to revitalize a weak unit that has top-notch talent.
The Pens will play their first exhibition game tomorrow at Buffalo.
