Some students at IUP shared their opinions concerning the upcoming Trump rally next Monday at the KCAC.
While the rally is not an official university event, it is taking place at a venue on Campus. Students that we talked to in the Oak Grove all said they were shocked and surprised when they first learned the former president would make an appearance at IUP.
Sophomore Domenic Montini said that he was surrounded by a lot of politics as he grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. He feels it’s important that voters get all the information they can.
Junior Seth Cooper said his reaction was mixed over the President’s appearance after the assassination attempt in Butler and recent events in Florida. He said he has his plans for Monday.
Freshman Jeff Goss is a political science major and plans to go to the rally and said he felt that it was the right move for Trump to hold the rally in Indiana.
Junior Rami Jasper said she wants to go to the rally, but she wants to attend for more of the historical significance. The last time a presidential candidate came to Indiana was John F. Kennedy in 1960.
The rally is scheduled for Monday, with the doors opening at 3 and the former president headed to the stage at 7:00.
