A car was destroyed by a fire Tuesday afternoon in Center Township.
Indiana County 911 sent Homer City firefighters to the junkyard along Twolick Drive at 2 o’clock for an SUV that caught fire in the middle of the yard. Homer City Fire Chief Terry Gardner said workers were emptying the car’s gas tank when a spark ignited the blaze.
No one was hurt in the incident and crews had it under control within a half hour.
