Indiana County’s First responders had a busy day on Monday.
The calls started at 11:27 AM for a physical rescue in Cherry Tree Borough. Cherry Tree and Hope Fire Departments were dispatched to Clarion Road. About 20 minutes later, a landing zone was set up by Hope firefighters on South Main Street in Cherry Tree Borough.
At 2:02 PM, an automatic fire alarm was activated at a property on Morewood Avenue in Blairsville Borough. Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments responded.
Indiana firefighters were called out at 2:23 PM for a smoke investigation at a home in the 700 block of Josephine Avenue in the Chevy Chase area of White Township. It was discovered that someone at the home had mopped the floor, but the water leaked into some electrical work and that caused smoke to form. No fire was reported.
A brush fire was reported along Old William Penn Highway in Burrell Township at 4:43 yesterday afternoon. This marks the 43rd brush fire of the year. Crews from Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments were initially dispatched, with Coral-Graceton firefighters called in 15 minutes later to assist.
