A big sigh of relief from IUP coach Paul Tortorella Saturday night after the Crimson Hawks held off Lock Haven, 20-17. The coach said IUP overcame a slew of mistakes and injuries in a hostile environment. Nick Andreassi kicked two fourth quarter field goals to lead IUP to the win in an evenly-played game.
IUP lost quarterback Karst Hunter and running back Adam Houser to injury and let a few plays get away from them, but coach Paul Tortorella says they did what was necessary to move to 2-0.
Next up for IUP is a third straight road game, this Saturday at Millersville. The Marauders are 0-2 after losses to Clarion and Frostburg State.
You can hear more about IUP’s big win over Lock Haven and this Saturday’s game at Millersville tonight when Jack Benedict and Coach Tortorella sit down for another edition of Hawk Talk on Renda Digital TV and 92.5 FM U92. The program airs live at six o’clock from the Indiana Elks Lodge every Monday and you’re invited to attend in person, have some dinner and submit a question for the coach.
