The Altoona Curve picked up its third straight win on Friday night with a 10-3 victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
Trailing 3-0 in the sixth inning, the Curve’s offense came alive with a double from Temar Johnson, who reached base safely in all five plate appearances last night. He later scored on a passed ball as part of a two-run sixth. In the seventh, the Curve sent 11 batters to the plate, picking up six runs. Catcher Endy Rodriguez, who is still in recovery, and Johnson added RBI’s in the eighth to seal the deal.
Anthony Solometo allowed a career-high nine hits, but just two runs, one earned, while striking out four and allowing one walk over five innings. He got a no-decision as Brad Case picked up the win on the mound. The two teams play again tonight.
