The Steelers’ Dan Moore Jr. missed practice yesterday with his bad ankle, so Broderick Jones moved from right tackle to left tackle and first round draft pick Troy Fautanu worked with the first team.
Fautanu has shaken off the rust after his return from a training camp knee injury. He dressed for Sunday’s game at Atlanta but did not play. He’s eager to get on the field this week at Denver.
Left guard Isaac Seumalo also missed practice with his pec injury. If he can’t play Sunday, it means the Steelers will start two second-year pros on the left side in Spencer Anderson and Broderick Jones.
Quarterback Russell Wilson, wide receiver Roman Wilson, and cornerback Corey Trice Jr. were all limited practice participants, and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi was a new addition to the “limited” designation with a knee injury.
The Broncos’ injury report listed linebacker Jonah Ellis as limited. Wide receivers Josh Reynolds and DeVaughn Vele and center Luke Wattenberg were all out.
Linebacker Elandon Roberts says the Steelers are well aware of the offensive genius of Broncos head coach Sean Payton, so they’re expecting Denver to be on the attack.
The Steelers officially welcomed back safety Terrell Edmunds, who rejoins a veteran secondary group. He was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday.
He’ll wear a new number – 39 – and dress at a different locker, but he says it’s good to come back to the team that drafted him number one in 2018.
Kicker Chris Boswell is the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He kicked six field goals on Sunday, three of them from beyond fifty yards. It’s the third time he’s won the award, the first since 2017
