At Monday night’s meeting, the Indiana School Board approved a resolution to deny the withdrawal of River Valley School District from the Indiana County Technology Center.
In May, River Valley started the process to leave the ICTC, which it had been a part of since the technical school was founded in 1980. One of the requirements is that all the other participating districts would have to approve the withdrawal resolution. The decision was a unanimous 9-0 vote. Board president Walter Schroth said that not only would this have a serious financial impact on the other districts, but it would be a disadvantage for River Valley’s students.
On a related manner, the board appointed Ira Weiss as special counsel for the ICTC-River Valley issue.
