After three bad losses to the Cubs last week, the Pirates finally got some retribution last night at Wrigley Field. Here’s Joe Block.

Jared Jones gave the Pirates a solid start in his second game back from the injured list, and Shelton liked the job done by Jalen Beeks in relief.

The second game of the series is tonight. Paul Skenes [8-2, 2.23 ERA] gets the start for the Pirates against Kyle Hendricks [3-10, 6.75 ERA]. It’s a 7:15 airtime, 7:40 first pitch on WCCS.
Pirates minor league pitcher Thomas Harrington is now listed in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects. He’s at number 99 after the Twins’ David Festa graduated from prospect status to Major Leaguer. Harrington has an overall ERA of 2.62 for Altoona and Indianapolis this season.
The Pirates have five players in the Top 100. Bubba Chandler is number 40. This year’s top draft choice, Konnor Griffin, is number 54. Termarr Johnson has fallen to number 81. Braxton Ashcraft is number 91.
