United beat West Shamokin 4-2. The Lions’ Gideon Bracken scored two goals, and Garin Fisher and Aedyn Montgomery each scored one. The senior Montgomery’s goal was the game-winner and was the first goal of his soccer career, from 18 feet into the top right corner on a ball that popped loose out of the defense.
United goalkeeper Maverick Zack made eight saves in his first start of the year.
