The IUP community kicked off the 2024-25 academic year this morning with a program at Fisher Auditorium.

In his remarks, IUP president Dr. Michael Driscoll talked about how historically, IUP has always been ahead of the curve, and he also talked about how the school can do so as it enters it’s 150th school year.
He did acknowledge the problems from the FAFSA debacle, where the rollout was delayed three months and errors were spotted on the applications. Driscoll said that the responsibility lies with the U.S. Department of Education.
He was optimistic on enrollment numbers, as early estimates show a three-percentage-point increase in enrollment over last fall’s numbers. Those statistics will be released later this semester.
