The Pennsylvania General Assembly has announced over $500,000 in Multimoldal Transportation Fund money will come to Indiana County to fund two projects.
Indiana Borough will receive $480,000 for its sidewalk repair program to enhance community walkability while Center Township will receive $104,686 to resurface the deteriorating cartway on several roads in Lucernemines. State Representative Jim Struzzi said that the grant money, especially the money for Indiana Borough, is appreciated.
State Senator Joe Pittman said that the projects will benefit people who live, work and visit these communities and will also boost economic activity and opportunity. He also called the funds “A unique opportunity to significantly enhance our local road network.”
