Motorists are being advised to use caution and have some extra patience as they take to the roads for the Christmas holiday.
Officials with the Pennsylvania Turnpike say that they expect a 40 percent increase in the number of motorists on the toll road over the holidays compared to last year, when travel was scaled back during the pandemic and people stayed closer to home. An estimated 650.000 motorists were expected yesterday, and between 600,000 and 625,000 motorists a day are expected to be on the turnpike between now and December 30th.
