Some traffic changes scheduled for the Margaret Road Intersection Improvement Project in Armstrong County will be delayed.
PennDOT announced that traffic was supposed to transition to the newly-aligned Route 422 on August 19th, but because of some anticipated bad weather, that transition will be delayed 24 hours to August 20th. From August 20 through November 15, 2024, Margaret Road, Old Route 422, and Cherry Run Road will be closed at their intersections with Route 422 as reconstruction begins. Traffic will not be able to access Route 422 from Margaret Road or Cherry Run Road. Margaret Road will be closed from Old 422 to Sunken Valley Road. For the Margaret Road detour, motorists will take Margaret Road to Route 85 to Route 210 to Route 422. Cherry Run Road will be closed Old 422 to Pyrra Road. The Cherry Run Road detour will take motorists from Cherry Run Road to Mount Union Church Road to Girty Road to Route 422.
The realignment will begin in the early morning hours. Motorists should be alert to all the changes when going through the area.
