Jase Bowen’s three-run, walk-off home run in the ninth inning helped the Curve snap their four-game skid and pick up their first win over Bowie last night. Altoona trailed by one heading into the bottom of the ninth, but after two runners reached on a single and catcher’s interference, Bowen hit a towering drive to left to win the game.
Kervin Pichardo pitched in two hits including a triple. Cy Nielson picked up the win.
Altoona has not announced a starter for tonight’s fourth game of the series, however, the team announced that former Pirate Beau Sulser was signed to a minor league deal yesterday and was placed on the Curve, so he could be picked to pitch tonight.
Sulser went 3-7 with a 5.29 ERA in 17 games with the Blue Jays’ Triple-A affiliate Buffalo this season. He last pitched in the majors in 2022, both with Pittsburgh and Baltimore.
