Several community members came together to help each other following the storms brought on by Tropical Storm Debby last week.
In Clymer, several businesses helped those whose homes were affected by floods or power outages at the height of the storms. George Pavlosky with the Clymer Fire Department was thankful for those who helped residents and first responders last week.
Clymer Little League held a workday Saturday after the fields took on heavy damage from the flood. Notably, damage to the new $40,000 fence and divots in the infield.
One business, Kanine Design Pet Grooming along Willow Avenue, encountered heavy flooding in its shop but owners Brenda Holliday and Laken Engel organized relief efforts shortly after the rain hit. Holliday said in a Facebook post that several businesses from Indiana, Clymer, Blairsville, Kittanning, Northern Cambria, and Home donated nearly 100 pizzas to the Clymer American Legion to help feed those affected by the floods.
Additionally, the American Red Cross was called in to help others affected by the flood.
