Restoration efforts are underway in the eastern end of Indiana County after last week’s rainfall caused floods in several municipalities.
One of the areas that encountered the most damage was in Clymer Borough, as approximately 10 blocks were covered in floodwater. George Pavlosky, a coach for Clymer Little League and member of the Clymer Fire Department, said the little league fields were destroyed as part of the flood.
Pavlosky also said monetary donations to the little league are encouraged, as they are not insured due to their location.
No official “work days” have been set, but Pavlosky said any and all help throughout the week is encouraged. To make a donation, please mail payments to Clymer Little League, 385 6th Street, Clymer, PA 15728. Checks can be made out to Clymer Little League.
Northern Cambria in Cambria County also saw their ballfields destroyed by the flood. While their fields have been insured since 2021, they, too, are seeking help in cleaning up the damages.
If you or someone you know would like to volunteer time to help restore the fields, please message their respective Facebook pages.
