The Penguins yesterday introduced new forward Blake Lizotte, who signed a two-year free agent contract last month after playing his first six seasons with the LA Kings. A 5-9, 175-pounder who has played mostly center, Lizotte scored seven goals with eight assists last season.
He says he’s joining a team that’s loaded with talented superstar players, and even though they’ve missed the playoffs the last two seasons, the whole league knows the Penguins are a good team.
Lizotte says he brings a lot of energy to the lineup, and he knows that sometimes in the grind of an NHL season, a team needs that extra juice.
Lizotte will battle for a spot with the bottom six forwards, and with a wealth of talent at the center position, he says he’s prepared to play on the wing.
